About

From humble beginnings

CS-Impact was started in mid 2006 with a CS 1.6 24/7 Scoutzknivez server running on an old Toshiba Satellite laptop using Windows Server 2003. The server was kept under a bed in an attempt to mute the sound of the large fans in old Toshibas. CS-Impact became mildly popular in the Scoutzknivez server circuit. The old server was usually maxed out at 16 players during the evening and late night hours – especially on weekends. CS-Impact.com used to be a portal for players of the server to report abuse, talk in general, and discuss various other things. Towards early 2007 CS-Impact shifted its focus and started to widen its network. It started offering free web hosting to clans and other servers that couldn’t afford it. Roughly 100 subdomains on CS-Impact.com were filled with clan websites by mid 2007.

The website started to shift its focus at that time as well and began to cover gaming news in general – often covering game releases, news, and reviews over several different consoles alongside the PC. This went on till the end of the year. At this point, managing a server on a home network was becoming increasingly harder due to the wear on the laptop and a change in my lifestyle. I started CS-Impact when I was 13 or 14 years old and now that I was getting older, my focus was changing to other online ventures. I eventually scrapped the CS-Impact project and moved on.

The server was down for about 5 or 6 years before I decided to revive the project. I’ve had success online and have constructed my own collection of websites under the “Jidly Network”. Now I’m able to show some love to one of my first online projects – this time with real servers.

The future

I hope to keep the CS-Impact network going indefinitely now that I have enough resources. I’m also expanding the server network with more servers and hopefully more games. Eventually… until then feel free to have fun in the servers – email me if you have any problems: info@cs-impact.com
